SUMMARY

The Regional Sales Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the sales team through effective customer communication, follow-up, and lead generation. The main goal of a regional sales support specialist is to develop prospects and generate quality leads that improve sales productivity for a designated market.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research, identify and qualify new and existing leads and prospects.
• Rank prospects for assigned contacts in the CRM.
• Partner with sales and operations teams in designated market to nurture existing prospects and customers through targeted marketing and ongoing contact.
• Communicate with prospects, and customers to establish new accounts, quote rates, and determine revenue potential through internet and market research.
• Verify, update, and maintain customer and competitor information in the CRM.
• Assist with new customer set-ups to include customer credit application, insurance certificates, CRM contact creation, rates, reservations and needed market information. Ensure that information is requested, processed, and communicated to customers in a timely manner.

• Explain and demonstrate products and services.
• Monitor and analyze competitive activity, customer, and market trends.
• Determine customer needs and identify opportunities to increase customer revenue through expansion of customer footprint or additional products and services.

• Support sales and marketing teams with additional tasks as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma and associate or bachelor’s degree. Two years sales experience in a transportation and/or sales related industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize and manage many tasks simultaneously and independently.
• Experience in managing sales automation and CRM systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Creative aptitude to bring new ideas and recommendations to the Marketing team
• Analytical competence and the ability to make critical assessments by deciphering data from different angles.
• Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices, Google AdWords, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook
• Ability to interact with external and internal clients professionally.
• Willingness to travel and work evening hours as needed.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Mckinney databases.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and social media messaging.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
